People's Alliance ABB mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok targets Mansur Yavaş: 'Where is the water for this mill coming from?'

People's Alliance's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok visited the Federation of Caucasian Associations.

In his speech during the visit, Turgut Altınok stated that if elected, he would build 5 museums in Ankara, and one of these would be the "Museum of Tears of the Balkans, Crimea, and Circassians."

Stating that there is a serious transportation and traffic problem in Ankara and that this situation does not befit the country's capital, Altınok expressed that the most correct way to solve the traffic problem is to build subways.

Reminding that ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş promised to build 58 kilometers of subway lines in previous elections, Altınok said, "But he did not build, could not build, even 5 centimeters of subway in Ankara. Therefore, if you give the mandate, we will quickly cover Ankara with subway networks, starting with the airport road subway."

"AFTER 1-1.5 YEARS, WHEELS WILL NOT TURN IN ANKARA"

Altınok stated that in addition to the subway, underpasses, overpasses, bridges, and interchanges must be built to ease Ankara's traffic, otherwise the traffic problem will increase further, and noted the following:

"Otherwise, after 1-1.5 years, wheels will not turn in Ankara. Because he says, 'Do not expect projects from me, do not expect roads. I do not have mega projects. I provided aid, I will provide aid.' However, the support provided by the metropolitan municipality was 8 percent of the municipal budget during the AK Party era, and it has dropped from 8 percent to 4 percent during Mr. Yavaş's term."

Altınok claimed that Mansur Yavaş recently sold 9 billion liras worth of real estate, but in return, there is no 9 billion liras worth of service provided in Ankara. Stating that when Yavaş became ABB Mayor, the municipality had a debt of 3.5 billion liras, Altınok expressed that the municipality's current debt is 20 billion liras.

"WHERE IS THE WATER FOR THIS MILL COMING FROM"

He claimed that CHP's ABB candidate Mansur Yavaş spent 2-2.5 billion liras on his election campaign and that this money was not paid entirely by the CHP. Stating that the treasury aid the CHP received from the state is 1 billion 819 million liras, Altınok said, "Well, is there only one province where the Republican People's Party is running in the election? There are 81 provinces and districts. Even if they gave all of it, it still wouldn't be enough. But where is the water for this mill coming from?"
