AKP Group Deputy Chairman Muhammet Emin Akbaşoğlu made important statements regarding the agenda on tv100. His assessments regarding the PKK terrorist organization laying down its arms, in particular, drew attention.

“WE MUST START A NEW ERA”

Akbaşoğlu gave the following response to the question, “When will the PKK lay down its arms?”:

“I think there will be an important development on this issue around the end of April or the beginning of May. Mr. Bahçeli had also reminded us of the importance of Malazgirt. By heeding the call from İmralı, we must start a new era in which arms are laid down across all geographies and by all elements.”

“JUNTA” COMPARISON TO CHP

Akbaşoğlu used harsh language while criticizing the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and the Republican People's Party (CHP).

Stating, “We have not eliminated any presidential candidate,” Akbaşoğlu targeted the opposition with the words, “We are facing a chairman who has the ability to turn a 100-year-old party into a marginal organization. CHP equals junta, junta equals CHP.”

CLEAR RESPONSE TO EARLY ELECTION QUESTION

Regarding the question about the possibility of an early election, Akbaşoğlu responded by emphasizing that the government has no such plan:

“We will go to the election now and win again. Why should we shorten our term? We have more work than time. We are in pursuit of works and services.”

BULDAN HAD ALSO GIVEN A DATE

Similar statements continue to come from the opposition front. DEM Party Van MP and İmralı delegation member Pervin Buldan said in a statement yesterday that they would meet with Abdullah Öcalan again.

Stating that there is a common goal between the state and the Öcalan side for the completion of the process, Buldan said, “It is foreseen that this process will be completed within a few months. Successfully concluding it by the end of June is a common goal for both state officials and Mr. Öcalan.”
