Phone call to Destici from İmamoğlu and Özel: 'We are in the People's Alliance'
BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici announced that before the Union of Municipalities elections, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu called him, but he rejected their offer, stating, "We are in the People's Alliance."
BBP Chairman Destici paid a condolence visit to former Prime Minister Tansu Çiller at her home in Sarıyer Yeniköy following the passing of her husband, Özer Uçuran Çiller.
Speaking to reporters after the visit, Destici wished God's mercy upon Özer Uçuran Çiller.
Recalling that the Union of Municipalities elections were held, Destici stated that they had also received an offer, and spoke as follows:
"WE ARE IN THE PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE"
"They expressed that they wanted us to be in the same bloc, that they could include our Sivas Mayor or a mayor we would propose in the council, and that they could assign us roles in other boards as well. But we thanked them. We are in the People's Alliance. The People's Alliance has a candidate, and we are on that list. Secondly, we told them that we would not be on any list that includes the DEM Party. Both Mr. Özgür Özel and Mr. Ekrem called. They showed such courtesy, and we thanked them."
