Political parties exchange Eid greetings... MHP and DEM Party delegations meet
On the second day of Eid al-Adha, political party delegations exchanged greetings through mutual visits, with the most notable contact occurring between the MHP and the DEM Party. The meeting addressed the "new process" that began with Devlet Bahçeli's remarks and continued with the PKK's announcement of its dissolution.
On the second day of Eid al-Adha, political parties operating in Turkey exchanged greetings through mutual visits. As is the case every holiday, the traditional exchanges between parties drew attention this year. The only party that did not participate in the greeting programs was the Republican People's Party (CHP).
NOTABLE MEETING BETWEEN MHP AND DEM PARTY
The meeting held between the delegations of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) as part of the holiday greeting traffic was the most striking contact of the day. The meeting agenda included the recent notable remarks made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and the subsequent statements from the leadership of the terrorist organization PKK regarding the organization's self-dissolution.
"HOPE FOR PEACE HAS BLOSSOMED"
During the greeting held at the MHP Headquarters, the DEM Party delegation made the following assessment regarding recent developments:
"God willing, peace will come, and tranquility will come. That is our wish. It feels like this holiday will be that holiday. We are living through a period that excites us all. The process initiated by Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, the message given by Mr. Öcalan on February 27, and the PKK's decision to dissolve the organization have led to the birth of a brand-new climate of peace for Turkey."
"THE PROCESS WILL ACCELERATE AFTER PARLIAMENT REOPENS"
Responding to these statements by the DEM Party, the MHP delegation stated that the process could gain momentum once Parliament resumes its work. MHP officials signaled that this topic would remain on the political agenda in the new term, saying, "The process will accelerate after Parliament opens."
"WE MUST EMBRACE THE PROCESS"
At the end of the greeting meeting, the DEM Party delegation drew attention to shared responsibility, stating, "We must all embrace peace and this process together."
