Proposal from YENİ Party to make CİMER 'paid'! 'Neighbors have started reporting neighbors'

YENİ Party Burdur MP İzzet Akbulut criticized the Presidential Communication Center (CİMER) during his speech at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly. Akbulut claimed that the system is being used by some individuals for the purpose of "snitching on each other."

According to a report by Cumhuriyet, Akbulut stated that investigation processes can be initiated directly following complaints received by CİMER, arguing that this has turned into a "method of settling scores" in personal disputes.

Akbulut stated, "Neighbors have started reporting neighbors, shopkeepers have started reporting shopkeepers; many of our citizens are using this CİMER to snitch on each other."

Suggesting that applications should be made subject to a fee to ensure CİMER is used more healthily, Akbulut said, "At the very least, if we cannot handle this, let's make it paid." Akbulut expressed that it is necessary to ensure the system is used in accordance with its purpose.

Speaking at the General Assembly, YENİ Party Adana MP Bilal Bilici drew attention to the problems faced by young people. Stating that there are "millions of young people not in education, employment, or training" in the country, Bilici said that young people are seeking not only jobs but also justice, freedom, and a future.

Bilici expressed that there are many young people who cannot find jobs suitable for their diplomas, who struggle with a system of nepotism, and who are subjected to mobbing in the workplace. Stating that young people are hesitant to express their opinions on social media, Bilici claimed that this situation is linked to the perception of the "CİMER stick."

Noting that young people expect fairness and merit instead of hopelessness, Bilici stated that Turkey losing its young population is increasing brain drain.
