NECK-AND-NECK RACE IN ISTANBUL

The British news agency Reuters published an analysis regarding the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayoral election. In the Reuters analysis, it was noted that the latest polls regarding the election indicate that the race will be neck-and-neck.

In the analysis, which included a poll by MAK Consulting, Ekrem İmamoğlu is shown to have 41.5 percent of the vote, while Murat Kurum has 40 percent.

ACCORDING TO GEZİCİ, KURUM IS AHEAD

Gezici Research Center President Murat Gezici stated that in the local elections in Istanbul, 44.1 percent support the joint AKP and MHP candidate Murat Kurum, while 43.5 percent support the CHP candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Speaking to Reuters, MetroPoll Research founder Özer Sencar assessed the situation as, "The race is neck-and-neck, on a knife's edge."

Stating, "If Ekrem İmamoğlu wins the election in Istanbul and this election is not somehow canceled due to objections, he will be the president in 2028," Sencar added, "The damage that the IYI Party and DEM parties will cause to Ekrem İmamoğlu should be taken seriously."

THE BIGGEST RISK FOR THE OPPOSITION

Aksoy Research President Ertan Aksoy drew attention to the fragmentation within the opposition, saying, "The biggest risk for the opposition in Istanbul is that it has become more fragmented than ever."

"İMAMOĞLU IS 3-4 POINTS AHEAD"

Stating that "the Istanbul election has turned into a race where whoever can convince the micro-target audiences can win," Aksoy mentioned that they conducted their last survey 40 days ago and made the following remarks;

"In the poll, İmamoğlu was 3-4 points ahead, and we believe this continues."
