Record increase in CHP membership following the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu
CHP Secretary General Selin Sayek Böke drew attention to the timing of the detention operation against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, stating, "We are aware that the March 19 coup was carried out before March 23 in a conscious and planned manner." Böke also announced that there has been a massive influx of new members to the CHP following İmamoğlu's detention.
CHP Secretary General Selin Sayek Böke made statements regarding the current agenda. Pointing to the protests that began following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and emphasizing that the struggle for democracy will continue, Böke said, "We are determined. We see this determination in the eyes of all our citizens."

"20 THOUSAND PEOPLE JOINED PER DAY"
On the other hand, Böke stated that there has been a record increase in the number of CHP members following the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu, and noted the following:
"Approximately 20 thousand more people said 'I am here too' and became members every day. The number of our citizens who applied to become members of our party in just the last 2 days has reached 40 thousand."
