Recount of Refahiye Provincial General Assembly ballots begins
The Republican People's Party (CHP) objected to the Provincial General Assembly votes in the elections held in the Refahiye district of Erzincan. The recount of the Refahiye Provincial General Assembly ballots has begun.
Regarding the counts in the Refahiye district during the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, the CHP Provincial Administration requested a recount of the ballots, citing errors specifically in the Provincial General Assembly counts. Following the YSK's acceptance of the objection, the ballots began to be recounted today at the Erzincan Courthouse.
Stating that their objection was accepted and that the count is being repeated across 132 ballot boxes, CHP Erzincan Provincial Administrator Yalçın Tanrıverdi said, "Our work and examinations were aimed at electing a Provincial General Assembly member from Refahiye for the first time in 43 years. However, we detected significant discrepancies in various ballot boxes between the figures announced from Refahiye and our own records. Our objection was accepted. The recount of the Refahiye Provincial General Assembly ballots has begun at the Erzincan Courthouse. We are monitoring the count with our party officials and lawyers."
