Resignation earthquake continues in İYİ Party

In the İYİ Party, the wave of resignations continues. Former İYİ Party Ankara Deputy Durmuş Yılmaz, former İYİ Party Deputy Chairman Bahadır Erdem, Ankara Deputy Adnan Beker and Eskişehir Deputy İdris Nebi Hatipoğlu and most recently IYI Party Agri parliamentary candidate and Central Disciplinary Board member Çağdaş Çelik had resigned from the party.

Another resignation came from Ali Aker, an IYI Party Istanbul parliamentary candidate. Announcing his resignation on his social media account, Aker, 'I made this decision because I was disturbed by the developments that have emerged in recent days.' he said.

'I WAS DISTURBED BY RECENT DEVELOPMENTS'

Aker's resignation statement is as follows:

'As Ali Aker, a founding board member of the European İYİ Community Volunteers, a 27th term İYİ Party Istanbul parliamentary candidate, and an Alevi-Bektashi opinion leader, I have resigned from the İYİ Party, which I have fought for and supported both financially and morally since its establishment, as of today. I would like to thank my party colleagues with whom I have fought for 6 years, the friends I have walked this path with, and the İYİ Party family for the support they have provided until now. It is against my political ethics and my beliefs to hurt people's feelings while resigning or to cast suspicion on the friends I have walked with in the struggle they continue.'

I made this decision because I was disturbed by the developments that have emerged in recent days. I will carry the determined struggle we have waged with faith until today, and the duties I have undertaken during this period, like a medal of honor on my chest for the rest of my life. From now on, regardless of political party, I will continue to work as an opinion leader in the interest and unity of my homeland, my state, the Turkish Nation of which I am a member, and the Republic of Turkey. Respectfully announced to the public.'
