Resignation earthquake in CHP: Seyhan Mayor Akif Kemal Akay resigns
Following former MP Gürsel Tekin and Çukurova Mayor Soner Çetin, Seyhan Mayor Akif Kemal Akay has also announced his resignation from the CHP.
Seyhan Mayor Akif Kemal Akay has announced his resignation from the CHP.
In a statement shared on his social media account, Akay used the following expressions:
"I am resigning from the Republican People's Party (CHP), which I have served with honor and pride in almost every capacity for 55 years, which is now occupied through unethical means by administrators whose only goal is to plunder public resources and who cannot tolerate a mayor who values labor, produces in almost every field, uses production and other resources in the most efficient way, makes no distinction of identity in the aid provided to the needy, and whose success is accepted by the entire public."
The CHP had previously announced that it nominated Oya Tekin to replace the current Seyhan Mayor, Akay.

This morning in the CHP, first former MP Gürsel Tekin and then Çukurova Mayor Soner Çetin had resigned.
