The wave of resignations that began in the AKP on September 18 is continuing unabated. Following the resignations of the provincial chairmen of Elazığ, Muğla, Adıyaman, Niğde, Çanakkale, and Ordu, Bitlis Provincial Chairman Kadir Köstekçi also announced that he has stepped down from his post.
In a statement on his social media account, Kadir Köstekçi said, "My dear fellow party members, my esteemed fellow citizens; first of all, I greet you all with respect, love, and affection. On August 2, 2023, I had the honor of being appointed as the AKP Bitlis Provincial Chairman with the approval of our President and Chairman, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan." Addressing the work he carried out during his tenure and the difficulties he faced, Köstekçi stated, "Despite all kinds of attacks, negativity, and challenges, we never gave up on our passion to serve our party and our fellow citizens."
At the end of his statement, Köstekçi bid farewell, saying, "I have now resigned from my position as AKP Bitlis Provincial Chairman, which I have carried out with honor and pride. May you be entrusted to God, may God keep you, and may the Lord be our helper. Stay well..."
