Bodrum Municipal Council Member Asuman Gülsoy has joined the AKP following her resignation from the CHP. Gülsoy's party change took place at a ceremony held on October 20.
Gülsoy, who had been a member of the CHP for approximately 20 years, had left her party on October 8. Gülsoy, who entered the Bodrum Municipal Council as a quota candidate from the CHP in the March 31, 2024 Local Elections, had announced after her resignation that she would continue her duties as a council member as an independent.
Gülsoy had stated that the CHP's recent political process was influential in her decision to resign, and expressed that she would continue to serve the people of Bodrum and Muğla in the period ahead.
