Response from CHP's Afyonkarahisar mayoral candidate Köksal regarding DEM: 'It was not a slip of the tongue'
CHP's Afyonkarahisar mayoral candidate Burcu Köksal had stated that if elected, the municipality's doors would be open to every political party except the DEM Party. Köksal has made new remarks regarding this statement.
Köksal made statements to journalist Barış Yarkadaş.
Stating that her words were not a slip of the tongue, Köksal reiterated that if elected mayor, she would not govern Afyonkarahisar with members of the DEM Party.

Speaking before the opening of the Afyonkarahisar Election Coordination Center, which was also attended by Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel, CHP's Afyonkarahisar mayoral candidate Burcu Köksal had used the expression, "When I am elected, the doors of the Afyonkarahisar Municipality will be open to every political party except the DEM Party."
Barış Yarkadaş stated that he spoke with Burcu Köksal regarding the statement in question and that Köksal told him:
"I called Burcu Köksal today. She said, 'I will only make a statement to you.' Burcu Köksal said, 'When I am elected mayor, I will not govern the Afyonkarahisar Municipality with members of the DEM Party.
I did not speak as a result of a slip of the tongue, but based on a promise I made. I have given this promise since the first day.
I stand by this promise of mine.'"
