The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Press Office has issued a written statement regarding claims that ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş will join different political parties.
The statement noted that the claims brought to the agenda regarding Yavaş, who resigned from the CHP on September 23 and has continued his duties as an independent, had been denied previously as well.
In the ABB statement, it was said, "Despite the fact that the claims that ABB Mayor Mr. Mansur Yavaş will join different political parties have been denied many times, they continue to be insistently brought to the agenda. We once again present to the public's information that these claims, which are put forward through a different political party every day, do not reflect the truth."
Emphasizing that Yavaş's stance on this issue is clear, the statement expressed that protecting the trust placed in politics and politicians is possible only through respect for the will of the voters.
The statement also referenced Yavaş's previously stated words, "Loyalty to the will of the voter is the honor of politics," and requested that the public not give credence to the claims, which were stated not to reflect the truth.
