Response to claims that 'Fatih Erbakan supports Mansur Yavaş': Presidential candidate announced
The New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) has responded to claims that its leader, Fatih Erbakan, supports Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.
Journalist Aytunç Erkin claimed during a program he attended that New Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan supports Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.
In the statement made by Aytunç Erkin on TV100, it was reported that Fatih Erbakan had used expressions indicating support for Mansur Yavaş. The claim in question quickly became a topic of public discussion.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE PARTY
Following the claims, a statement was issued by the New Welfare Party. The party's Deputy Chairman in charge of Promotion and Media, Muhammed Fatih Müjdeci, made an assessment via his social media account.
In his statement, Müjdeci said, "The claim voiced by journalist Aytunç Erkin on TV100 screens that 'our Chairman Dr. Fatih Erbakan supports Mansur Yavaş' is completely baseless."

Müjdeci included the following statements in the continuation of his remarks:
"The Presidential Candidate of the New Welfare Party, by the decision of the party's will and authorized bodies, is our Chairman Dr. Fatih Erbakan. Comments and evaluations made outside of this do not reflect the truth and are intended to mislead the public."
