CHP Spokesperson and Deputy Chairman in Charge of Local Governments Müslim Sarı met with municipal council members and the party organization in the Defne district of Hatay. The meeting was also attended by CHP Hatay Provincial Chair Derya Altunay and district chairs.
Conveying the greetings of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in his speech, Sarı made evaluations regarding the separation process within the party. Sarı argued that there was no "rational or logical" justification for leaving the CHP.
Reminding that there have been political and ideological separations in the history of the CHP in the past, Sarı said that today's separation is not of the same nature. He stated that those who have left should explain where they differ from the CHP's "six arrows" principles.
"I say to my friends who have left, do not close the doors so hard every time, you will have to open them. I also say to my friends who have stayed, do not be disrespectful to our friends who have left; they will come back. You will see this in a short while. There are contacts, there are those who want to come back, there are those who want to unite; we will all see it together."

Sarı said that they are holding meetings with organizations and municipal council members to evaluate the impact of the separation process on local governments. Stating that they have initiated a "Turkey scan" within this scope, Sarı expressed that the process was started from Hatay.
Reminding that municipal council member elections and deputy mayor elections will be held in Mersin in the coming days, Sarı stated that they will manage the process in Mersin Metropolitan, Mezitli, and Yenişehir together. Sarı conveyed that after Hatay, the programs in Osmaniye, Adana, and Mersin will continue.
Emphasizing that Hatay has a special place in terms of CHP politics, Sarı drew attention to the city's influence within the party. Stating that they have found the opportunity to send a message from Hatay to both the headquarters and other provinces, Sarı said, "I would like to bring to your attention once again that we care about Hatay very much."
