Saadet candidate Aydın's 'FETÖ' statement: 'Weren't they carrying out operations together with the AKP?'

Saadet Party Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Birol Aydın made evaluations at a candidate introduction meeting in Küçükçekmece. 

Aydın stated the following:

"WERE THE AKP AND FETÖ NOT AS THICK AS THIEVES?"

“We are in the 13th anniversary of our teacher Erbakan's passing to the afterlife. We bid farewell to our teacher 13 years ago. May his place be heaven. May the Almighty make us steadfast in following the path he blazed. May the Almighty keep our feet firm. On this occasion, I would like to underline one issue. The other day, our chairman mentioned an incident that occurred in 2006 regarding our teacher Erbakan on a television channel. Following this, some newspapers, some writers, and some politicians made various statements. I am a brother of yours who was directly privy to this situation. What happened at the beginning of the matter? What happened at the end? Which court gave which decision? What did the AK Party governments and officials do at that time? What did Mr. Ahmet Necdet Sezer do? What did the Republican People's Party do? What did they do? What did the Constitutional Court say about this? Independent of all these, we need to underline a truth regarding that day once again. The issue our chairman mentioned on a channel is this.

News comes to our teacher Erbakan's residence from a channel within the Ministry of Interior. The news says, ‘Teacher Erbakan should vacate the house. He should leave the house. The police will take Teacher Erbakan.’ When this news was told to our teacher Erbakan, our teacher said, ‘What kind of nonsense is this? Are we criminals that we should leave our house? If they are coming, let them come.’ Upon this, we prepared a team of 150-200 people. To not hand over our teacher Erbakan to the incoming police. Plainclothes police arrived. They surrounded our teacher Erbakan's house. As a result of some contacts, the late Mr. Hasan Kalyoncu said to Mr. Tayyip, in a harsh tone, whatever his style was, ‘What is this situation?’ After some words, Mr. Tayyip withdrew the police from around our teacher Erbakan. This is the event. But the point that needs to be underlined and understood is this. Now they are making a lot of political statements. Some writers are writing about the front, the back, etc. It is not enough. Our teacher's son also made a statement. I am saying this because of that. Our teacher Erbakan has a famous saying. About 'puttying' (covering up). Our teacher's son also applied some putty. The event is this. The will to withdraw the police from around our teacher Erbakan's house could have also prevented those police from coming in the first place. As if that was a time when the government had not yet consolidated its power. FETÖ elements did this. This is the real puttying. It is a pity, it is a sin.

At those dates, weren't the AK Party and FETÖ, the government and FETÖ, as thick as thieves? Weren't they carrying out all the operations against this nation together in those days? Weren't they orchestrating everything together, especially the Ergenekon and Balyoz operations? Trying to cover up the great mistake of that day with the perception formed after 17-25 December is not a reflection of a healthy state of mind. Let me express this at the beginning of my words.”
