Saadet Party leader Karamollaoğlu reacts to the government's 'Great Palestine Rally': 'The government does not hold rallies, it takes action'
Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu made statements regarding the agenda at his party's parliamentary group meeting. While stating, "To stand up for Jerusalem today is, rest assured, to stand up for Ankara," Karamollaoğlu also reacted to the Great Palestine Rally to be organized by the AKP Istanbul Provincial Presidency.
Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu made evaluations regarding the agenda in his speech at his party's TBMM Group Meeting. Karamollaoğlu said the following:
"THOSE WHO BESIEGED ÇANAKKALE HAVE BESIEGED GAZA"
"To stand up for Jerusalem today is, rest assured, to stand up for Ankara. I hope we will not be too late when we realize this. To stand in the way of Israel and the US today means to extinguish the fire that could fall upon our country tomorrow. Under these conditions, the expression 'there is no line of defense, there is a surface of defense' is exactly fitting. That surface was our country yesterday, and it is the Palestinian territories today. Those who besieged Istanbul and Çanakkale like cannibals yesterday have besieged Gaza today. Breaking this siege is a debt of honor for all of us. I invite everyone to exercise these responsibilities now."
Criticizing the Palestine rally to be held by the government, Karamollaoğlu said, "The government does not hold rallies, it takes action." Stating that the rally would serve no purpose other than creating a perception domestically, Karamollaoğlu demanded that the government take the necessary steps.
"5 OF OUR COLLEAGUES WILL GO TO GAZA"
Speaking in the Saadet Group, Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu stated the following:
"It is not clear when the TBMM commission will go, but I spoke with our group deputy chairmen and Mr. Karamollaoğlu a little while ago; 5 of our colleagues applied to the Egyptian embassy as of yesterday to go to Gaza. And they will convey your greetings; they will go to take to Gaza not only your greetings, but the greetings of the Anatolia that was saved by the army of the oppressed."
