Saadet Party issues statement on 'merger with New Welfare Party'!
Saadet Party Istanbul MP Mustafa Kaya responded to claims that they would merge with the New Welfare Party (YRP), stating, "There is no merger or separation on our agenda. Our opinions regarding which political party to consult with on any issue are evaluated by our authorized bodies."
Due to the Ramadan Feast, political parties held mutual holiday visits.
The Saadet Party visited the New Welfare Party (YRP), which became the third-largest party across Turkey by reaching a 6.19 percent vote share in the March 31 Local Elections.
During the visit to the YRP by a Saadet Party delegation consisting of Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Mustafa Kaya, General Administrative Board Member Mehmet Fatih Akdağoğlu, and Deputy Chairman of Election Affairs Furkan Kılıçoğlu, the claims that the two parties would merge were also discussed.
Saadet Party Istanbul MP Mustafa Kaya responded as follows to the question of whether the possibility of a merger between the Saadet Party and the New Welfare Party would come to the agenda following the local election evaluations:
"We are making our own evaluation. The Saadet Party evaluates the results it has received. There is no merger or separation on our agenda. We are currently on a holiday visit. Our opinions regarding how these will be evaluated and which political party will be consulted on what issues will be assessed by our authorized bodies later and shared with the public."
