Sakarya district chairs call for Ümit Dikbayır's resignation

İYİ Party Sakarya MP Ümit Dikbayır, who has remained in the spotlight due to the accusations he has leveled against his party, continues to shape the political agenda.

Following his statements, Dikbayır, who was referred to the disciplinary board with a request for expulsion, has now faced a call from the province he represents as an MP.

The Sakarya provincial and district chairs shared the signatures they collected on social media and called on Dikbayır to resign. The shared statement included the following remarks:

"To the attention of the entire public;

As Sakarya provincial and district chairs, we have acted in unity and solidarity since our founding. Today, the situation we are facing, especially as Sakarya organizations, is seriously disturbing our provincial and district organizations. In order to prevent these situations reflected in the public eye from causing further harm to our party, we, as the chairs, unanimously invite the subject of the matter, IYI Party Sakarya MP Mr. Ümit Dikbayır, to resign from our party.

We present this to the entire public with our respects."

NEW STATEMENTS FROM DIKBAYIR

Sakarya MP Ümit Dikbayır, who was referred to the disciplinary board with a request for expulsion, made harsh statements. He directed accusations at certain figures in the party management.

He alleged that Deputy Chairman Sedat Aksakallı collected money from business people but that this money was not delivered to him.

Dikbayır also claimed that the IYI Party's election campaign was managed by Meral Akşener's son, Fatih Akşener, and that Fatih Akşener handed out cash to the team he worked with.

"AKŞENER'S SON MANAGED THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN"

Sakarya MP Ümit Dikbayır stated, "The election campaign of a huge party was managed by the chairman's son. The chairman's son is not a communications expert; he is an electrical engineer. I expressed my discomfort with this from time to time. Fatih Akşener managed the campaign. He distributed money, with 200 thousand liras in each of the 7-8 IYI Party bags he held in his hands," he said.

"I WILL NEVER RESIGN WHILE THERE ARE SLANDERS AGAINST ME"

Ümit Dikbayır emphasized that despite his statements, he would not resign from his party.

"Let the chairman take it to a congress. No, I am a founder of this party, especially when there are such vile slanders against me, I will never resign. Why should I resign? I have put my labor into this party."
