Samyeli drew attention by stating, "Living in Turkey is like climbing a greased pole. It is difficult, exhausting, but you have to keep going somehow."
While these statements found a wide echo on social media, Hanefi Tok, the AKP mayor of the Çaykara district in Trabzon, responded to Samyeli's words via social media.
Tok's lewd response to Samyeli's words, saying "It's better than sitting," drew backlash.
