Second act in the MHP-Yeni Şafak feud: Bahçeli's advisor steps in!
Yıldıray Çiçek, press advisor to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, issued a harsh response to the Yeni Şafak newspaper's headline "The commission must not go to İmralı," accusing the newspaper of carrying out "commissioned content, manipulation, and a hidden agenda."
In recent days, a deep rift has emerged among media outlets close to the government over the issue of "sending a commission to İmralı." The step that ignited the tension was the headline published by the Yeni Şafak newspaper on November 5, titled "The commission must not go to İmralı." The report stated that the proposal for the commission established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to visit İmralı Island to meet with the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, was criticized by a large segment of society.

The report stated that the commission's visit to the island would "strengthen the perception in society that 'Parliament went to Öcalan's feet'" and expressed that the process could harm the goal of a "Terror-free Turkey." Furthermore, the newspaper claimed that the meeting in question was rejected by a large majority of the public, citing a survey of 1,100 people to report a 76 percent opposition rate.
RESPONSE FROM MHP-ALIGNED TÜRKGÜN
Following this headline by Yeni Şafak, the MHP-aligned newspaper Türkgün gave a harsh response. In its report titled "Yeni Şafak wanted to strike a blow to a terror-free Turkey, but was disgraced by its own archives! What is your problem?", Türkgün accused Yeni Şafak of sabotaging the process. The report stated that Yeni Şafak was attempting to undermine the "terror-free Turkey" process, similar to its efforts to "hit the AK Party through the economy."
The newspaper characterized Yeni Şafak's survey as an "example of provocation," stating that the process of the commission going to İmralı was an important step taken at the call of MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli to end futile debates and prevent information pollution.

HARSH CRITICISM OF YENI ŞAFAK FROM YILDIRAY ÇIÇEK
Yıldıray Çiçek, press advisor to MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli, harshly criticized the Yeni Şafak newspaper in his article published in Türkgün titled "The perception in the editorial line has been caught on radar." Çiçek stated that although the newspaper follows editorial policies close to the government from time to time, it "publishes content that contradicts its own line during certain periods."
Çiçek described Yeni Şafak's stance against MHP policies as "obsessive and fixated." Citing past articles in the newspaper, such as those regarding the "FETÖ tape operation against the MHP," Çiçek argued that "Yeni Şafak harbors a deep discomfort and resentment toward the MHP."
In his article, Yıldıray Çiçek pointed out a serious contradiction between Yeni Şafak's past approach to the "solution process" and its current publications regarding the "Terror-Free Turkey" process. Çiçek stated that during the "solution process," the U.S.'s Greater Middle East Project targeted Turkey, whereas in the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, the People's Alliance is demonstrating a stance aimed at disrupting the regional games of the U.S. and Israel.
ALLEGATION OF A HIDDEN AGENDA
Çiçek noted that Yeni Şafak used positive language in its past publications, such as "Öcalan is acting with a great sense of responsibility in this process," but is now following a completely opposite line regarding the "Terror-Free Turkey" process. Describing this situation as "trying to portray strategic steps differently," Çiçek wrote, "It is certainly possible to speak of the existence of ill intent, commissioned content, and even a hidden agenda here."
REMINDER OF TVNET
In his article, Yıldıray Çiçek recalled a video prepared by the Yeni Şafak group's television channel, TVNET, about MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, stating that it was the "joint product of those making calculations over the MHP" and the "gang counting breaths."
ÇİÇEK'S FINAL MESSAGE: THEY HAVE FALLEN ONTO THE RADAR
Çiçek concluded his article by saying, "Yeni Şafak has very clearly fallen onto the radar. Despite appearing close to the power and the government, it has been clearly exposed that they are uncomfortable with the unity of the People's Alliance and the existence of the MHP. Their editorial line, propaganda methods, and presentations are the evidence we have in hand."
