Selçuk Özdağ expresses regret over past 'yes' vote

On the second day of Eid al-Adha, representatives from various political parties visited the Yeniden Refah Party Headquarters.

During these visits, Selçuk Özdağ was present representing the Future Party, and views were exchanged on inter-party relations and current issues.

Conveying the greetings of Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, Özdağ stated that he regrets the 'yes' vote he cast for the constitutional amendment in the past and apologized to the public for it. Özdağ emphasized that he would act more cautiously in the future to avoid experiencing similar regret.

CRITICISM OF PARTY SWITCHING

Selçuk Özdağ stated that those who change parties after becoming members of parliament do not show respect for the will of the voters, adding that this situation is not ethical.

Özdağ said, "It is not right to take on the role of the opposition and then switch to the ruling party. If you want to join the ruling party, you should have been a candidate from there in the first place."

He stated that if the Future Party were to come to power, they would not want participants from different parties and that it would be more appropriate for such individuals to remain independent.

MESSAGE ON KANAL İSTANBUL

During the visit, Yeniden Refah Party Deputy Chairman Bülent Osman Osmanağaoğlu presented the visiting delegation with Doğan Aydal's brochure titled "Kanal İstanbul should never be built" and Necmettin Erbakan's book "Our Cause" (Davamız). Osmanağaoğlu pointed out that the credibility of the current administration is low and drew attention to the importance of oversight mechanisms.

Osmanağaoğlu stated, "Democracy does not just mean a majority; it is not right to disregard forty-nine percent with one extra vote," and expressed that the oversight role of the Parliament should be increased.
