Seyit Torun: Süleyman Soylu and the People's Alliance are the greatest security threat to the Republic of Turkey

Former Minister of Interior and AKP Istanbul MP Süleyman Soylu has become the subject of public discussion following court records related to a case concerning allegations of 'terror links' within the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).

Soylu, who claimed that social media has been turned into a 'cradle of lies,' stated that the testimony record in which his lawyer provided a statement on his behalf cited Ministry of Interior reports as the source.

"THE GREATEST SECURITY THREAT"

Sharing the testimony records regarding the matter, CHP Ordu MP Seyit Torun stated, "Former Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, who said 'There are 550 terrorists in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality,' says in his testimony, 'I have no information/documents. I said these things within the scope of political discourse and freedom of expression.'"

Torun added, "Soylu, who lies to his people and targets the opposition with terror rhetoric instead of effectively fighting terrorism, and the People's Alliance are the greatest security threat to the Republic of Turkey."
