Sezgin Tanrıkulu's İmralı statement: Video conference proposal
CHP's Tanrıkulu made important statements regarding his party's decision on İmralı: Tanrıkulu said, "The table remains, the CHP is at the table."
CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu stated that his party's decision regarding İmralı is an important turning point, but emphasized that the process is not yet complete. Tanrıkulu also shared the CHP's stance and proposals regarding the resolution process with the public.
Tanrıkulu evaluated his party's stance on the decision for a delegation from the parliamentary commission to visit İmralı, as part of the resolution process initiated by the government under the name 'Terror-Free Turkey.' Explaining the decision for the CHP not to provide members for the delegation that will visit İmralı, Tanrıkulu said, "The CHP did not oppose visiting İmralı, but chose not to provide members for the delegation. Instead, it proposed another method."
TECHNICAL CONNECTION PROPOSAL
Tanrıkulu explained the alternative solution proposed by his party as follows: "As of today, there are 51 members in the commission, and the chairman is also present in this environment. Our proposal is to establish a connection with İmralı via video conference or other technical means. In this way, the questions of members from all political parties can be conveyed, and opinions can be expressed."
Tanrıkulu stated that the purpose of this proposal is to ensure that the views of all parties are heard, not just those of the five political party representatives who would visit İmralı.
CHP'S APPROACH TO THE PROCESS
Tanrıkulu expressed his party's approach to the resolution process as follows: "This is an important turning point, but it is not the end of the process. The table remains, the CHP is at the table. It has declared its stance in favor of a solution today as well." Furthermore, the CHP deputy emphasized that as a party that prioritizes the resolution of Turkey's Kurdish issue, the resolution process should proceed in a more constructive manner in light of reports and studies to be conducted in parliament.
