CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, whose recent visits have become a subject of debate after his meeting with AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan was personally labeled by Erdoğan as 'softening in politics', hosted Taha Hüseyin Karagöz, a figure known for his proximity to the government and for making posts that amount to insults against opposition figures.

Many figures, primarily opposition journalists, asked CHP Chairman Özgür Özel why such a person was hosted.
