Sharp response to DEM Party from People's Alliance partner BBP! 'The political apparatus of a terrorist organization...'
DEM Party and BBP traded sharp accusations against each other through statements on social media.
A sharp response has come from the DEM Party to the statement by Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici, who said, "DEM should dissolve itself."
In the statement issued, the DEM Party, which claimed that their party is a symbol of the struggle for equality, freedom, democracy, justice, and peace for the peoples, included the following remarks: "We are not dissolving our party. We are where we are, and our march continues with determination."
On the other hand, the response from the BBP was equally sharp. Emphasizing that the DEM Party is linked to the PKK terrorist organization, the statement said, "DEM, which cannot distance itself from terrorism, still acts with the reflexes of the organization and continues to conduct politics within that mentality, that structure, and that chain of command."
The full text of the BBP's statement is as follows:
"As the Great Unity Party, we know very well in this country who serves what, on whose behalf which words are spoken, and which structure takes orders from whom.
For forty years, the PKK has made this nation and state pay a price with the barrels pointed at them. The DEM Party, meanwhile, continues to act as the political apparatus of this terrorist organization today, attempting to legitimize the blood spilled by saying, 'We have paid a price.'
Those who did not openly condemn the organization, which was said to have been dissolved until yesterday, continue to speak in the language of that organization today.
DEM, which cannot distance itself from terrorism, still acts with the reflexes of the organization and continues to conduct politics within that mentality, that structure, and that chain of command.
This nation knows who has paid the price.
This nation, which has given thousands of martyrs in the mountains, on the streets, in schools, in markets, in military barracks, in treacherous ambushes, bomb attacks, and mine traps, has paid the real price itself while standing against terrorism.
While the blood of our martyrs is still fresh and the tears of mothers have not dried, for those who march against the will of the nation with weapons to come out today and say 'our march continues' is the name of a new betrayal of the nation.
What did we say? Did we say something wrong?
The KCK and its derivatives abroad, which have already written off the PKK—which has reached the point of collapse—for other goals, and this structure, which tries to survive on billions of dollars of dirty narco-finance, acts as if it has dissolved itself. This is the truth.
The DEM Party, which lines up behind them, is trying to engage in politics just by 'changing the sign' without rejecting its affiliations related to terrorism.
This is not enough! This nation is fed up with name games.
What did we say: Dissolve yourselves, this structure, and this mentality 'unconditionally'! A mentality that still sets conditions for this state, having cast a shadow on the unity of this country, cannot have a place in the political arena without 'fully' purging itself, and cannot use politics as a tool for its own separatist and divisive ideas!
Our call to the DEM Party is not just a legal call, but a moral, conscientious, and national one.
It is essential that this structure, which has never severed its ties with the PKK, acts with the organization's mentality from its staff to its rhetoric, and attempts to lecture the founding will of the state whenever it finds the opportunity, must liquidate not only itself but also the mentality it carries.
We did not make this call for polemics. These words were born not from hatred, but from loyalty to the state, the nation, the martyrs, and the homeland.
The Great Unity Party is against terrorism and the politicization of terrorism today, just as it was yesterday. To remain silent and to swallow this is a betrayal of this nation, both its Kurds and its Turkmens.
The translation of DEM's statement 'We have paid a price' is this: 'We have arrived by making this state and this nation pay a price, and now we are trying to present this past as a right.'
We will not allow this as much as we can.
Our party has been operating uninterruptedly for over 32 years.
The Great Unity Party has been the only 'national/spiritual' oriented party that has maintained its existence with stability amidst political turmoil, changes in government, party closures, and coup processes in Turkey, has never stood side-by-side with the terrorist organization and its derivatives under any conditions or circumstances, and most importantly, has given its founding leader as a martyr while conducting politics in the direction of love for the homeland.
The Great Unity Party stands behind its word to the end.
It will continue to stand tall against every structure that targets the unity, brotherhood, and independence of this country, both in the public square and before the law."
