Sinan Ateş detail in Bahçeli's '17-25 December clock' message: It wasn't there 1 week before the hearing
While the message sent by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli via the '17-25 clock' in his office is being debated, the date the clock was returned to the room has become a subject of curiosity. Looking at Bahçeli's recent photos, the clock, which was not in the room on June 24, was present on July 2. It was noted that the date the clock was placed back in the room coincides with the Sinan Ateş murder trial, which began on July 1.
Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Ali Koç visited CHP leader Özgür Özel and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli in their offices immediately after the eventful Göztepe match.
The photos released to the press following Ali Koç's visit to Bahçeli revealed a striking detail.
While it was seen in the photo that the 17-25 December clock had reappeared, questions arose as to how long the clock had been there and why it was placed back.
NOT THERE ON JUNE 24, PRESENT ON JULY 2
According to the report compiled by Serbestiyet; the clock, which had not been seen for 8 years, first appeared during the visit of the then-Editor-in-Chief of Cumhuriyet Newspaper, Can Dündar, to the MHP leader.
Bahçeli, who stopped the clock at 17:25 in reference to the 17-25 December investigations, had said, “I did this personally. I removed the battery when it showed 17:25. From this, you can understand that we will never take a step back from our promise to hold those responsible for 17 and 25 December accountable.”
The clock, which had not been seen for 8 years since that day, appeared for the first time on July 2.
The clock, which was not visible during the visit of MHP Aksaray Deputy Ramazan Kaşlı to Bahçeli on June 24, 2024, reappeared in the photo taken during the visit of Turkey Public Workers' Union (Türkiye Kamu-Sen) President Önder Kahveci to Bahçeli on July 2.
SINAN ATEŞ DETAIL
At that time, Turkey was focused on the trial of former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş, who was assassinated in Ankara. The Sinan Ateş case, which had been kept waiting for 1.5 years after the March 31 local elections, came back to the agenda immediately after the elections.
The prepared indictment was accepted despite all criticisms, and the first hearing was held on July 1 at the Sincan Prison Campus in Ankara.
It was observed that the 17-25 December clock in Bahçeli's office was placed back in the room during the Sinan Ateş murder trial process.
