Sinan Oğan responds to 'cooperation with AKP' claims: There is no cooperation with the AKP or any other party
Sinan Oğan, who supported Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the second round of the presidential elections on May 28, 2023, responded to claims that 'an electoral cooperation was made with the AKP,' stating, "When the day and time come, we will clearly express on a local basis which candidate we will support in which city."
Sinan Oğan, who decided to support the People's Alliance's joint candidate Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the second round of the presidential elections on May 28, 2023, shared a statement regarding claims that "cooperation was made with the AKP at the local level."
Stating that "It is out of the question for us to have made an electoral cooperation with the AKP or any other party," Oğan added, "It may be possible for us to support candidates from different parties in some cities in Turkey on a candidate-by-candidate basis, whom we believe will contribute to the city they live in."
"THERE IS NO COOPERATION WITH THE AKP OR ANY OTHER PARTY"
Oğan's statement is as follows:
"Today, news reports that do not reflect the truth have been published on some news websites and TV channels, claiming that 'Sinan Oğan and the Turkey Alliance Party, known for its proximity to him, have decided to support the AK Party.' There is no institutional cooperation between us and the AK Party or any other party across Turkey for the upcoming local elections. As someone who lives and engages in politics in Turkey, it may be possible for us to support candidates from different parties in some cities in Turkey on a candidate-by-candidate basis, whom we believe will contribute to the city they live in. In that case, we will clearly express it in the future.
"WE WILL EXPRESS WHICH CITY WE WILL VOTE FOR WHOM WHEN THE TIME COMES"
I call on our esteemed members of the press to stop writing scenarios on our behalf. Both we and the Turkey Alliance Party will clearly express on a local basis which candidate we will support in which city when the day and time come. And we will all see together that this support will have the potential to change the outcome. Respectfully announced to the public."
