Sırrı Sakık's response to Özgür Özel: 'Yes, we will make you lose'

The remarks of Ağrı MP Sırrı Sakık left their mark on the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) meeting where they introduced their İzmir candidates.

Responding to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's remarks regarding the DEM Partythat "There is a strategy to make us lose. This is very obvious," Sakık said, "He is speaking the truth. Yes, we will make you lose. We will make you lose, and we will make the AKP-MHP fascism lose as well. For God's sake, who are you? Are you the masters and we the slaves? We supported you in 2019. We created a paradise for you in these municipalities. You turned around and made life a living hell for the Kurds." he stated.

Targeting Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Sakık continued his words as follows;

"Istanbul candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu said 'I am the grandson of Topal Osman' as soon as he was elected. We are the grandchildren of Sheikh Said and Seyit Rıza. They forget these things. You get elected with the Kurdish vote and then turn your back on the Kurds. We cannot walk the same path with them. In the general elections,  we provided support for democracy and peace without any conditions or calculations. However, they went and signed a protocol with Ümit Özdağ. How can we support such a party? I want to ask the CHP: How many votes do you get in the Kurdish provinces that you are fielding candidates there? All of them are monist and racist."

WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY?

CHP leader Özgür Özel, during a press conference with journalists at the Turkish Grand National Assembly last week, stated that in the 2019 local elections, the HDP did everything to make the AKP lose without any demands, while noting that the situation is different for the March 31 elections. He said, "In this election, there is a demand to show their strength not to the AK Party, but somewhat to the opposition. Looking at the strategy followed by the DEM Party, as we read from their own spokespeople and MPs—and which has not been denied—various negotiations are being held with the AK Party regarding the period after April 1, particularly concerning the issue of appointing trustees. There is a strategy not to help us win, but to make us lose if necessary. This is very clear."
