Statement from Hamza Dağ on Özgür Özel: 'He fears becoming the CHP's shortest-serving chairman'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's remarks regarding the People's Alliance İzmir candidate Hamza Dağ have received a response.

Visiting shopkeepers in the Ayrancılar neighborhood of Torbalı district as part of his campaign activities ahead of the local elections, Dağ said the following in his response to Özgür Özel:

"HIS PANIC WILL INCREASE AS THE ELECTION APPROACHES"

"First of all, let me say this: regarding what the youth branch in Çiğli did, I only found out about it later. I had no prior knowledge of it. We also come from the youth branches. Such humorous things happen during these processes. For us, these are things we can look at with humor and just laugh off. Since Özel entered politics while playing PlayStation in the 82nd minute, he doesn't really understand these things. Therefore, we know very well how to digest this within the İzmir culture of democracy. Of course, when I look at it, I see that the Republican People's Party Chairman's affection for me has started to increase as the election approaches. He mentioned the name Hamza Dağ 10 times in yesterday's press conference. As the election approaches, his affection, his interest, and his panic will increase. I am aware that his fear of experiencing the status of being the shortest-serving chairman of the Republican People's Party—and hopefully, the concern that the choice of the people of İzmir will have a major impact on this—is what is increasing his affection for me. He will continue to love us."
