Ataşehir Deputy Mayor Murat Güneş issued a statement on his social media account after 6 municipal council members elected from the CHP list switched to the AKP.
Güneş stated that they are closely monitoring the developments regarding the voter's will in Ataşehir and conveyed the message that the municipal administration continues its duties.
In his statement, he said, "We are closely following the interventions directed at the voter's will in Ataşehir. The people of Ataşehir decide the future of Ataşehir. Together with our 18 council members, we are at our posts."
The transition of 6 members elected from the CHP to the AKP has also brought about discussions regarding the balance of power in the Ataşehir Municipal Council.
