Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar, who once served as an advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, resigned from the New Welfare Party (YRP) shortly after being elected Mayor of Şanlıurfa in the local elections on March 31, 2024.
Gülpınar, who has been continuing his path as an independent, visited MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, which raised the question: "Is he transferring to the MHP?"
