Statement from the New Welfare Party on talks with the AKP! Will it be like the May elections?

Suat Kılıç, Deputy Chairman of the New Welfare Party (YRP), which has decided to enter the local elections with its own candidates, stated, "There is no open door because there is no request. There is no offer from the AK Party, and there is no request from here. I do not think it is possible for such an offer to come at this stage."

Statement from the New Welfare Party on talks with the AKP! Will it be like the May elections?

Suat Kılıç, Deputy Chairman of the New Welfare Party (YRP) and candidate for Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, made statements regarding the local elections.

Speaking to Ceren Bayar from Duvar, Kılıç said the following regarding the alliance situation with the AKP, whose negotiations did not yield results:

"Our chairman made a very clear statement. Before that, there were alliance negotiations that lasted nearly two months, and no progress was made. The New Welfare Party did not see the need to continue the alliance negotiations. If progress had been made in the negotiations, perhaps a few more meetings could have been held and some goals could have been reached. But it did not happen, and as a matter of fact, there is no alliance."

"NO REQUEST FOR TALKS HAS BEEN RECEIVED"

"After our statement, no new request for talks came from the AK Party. Therefore, a meeting is not possible. Ultimately, the New Welfare Party has expressed directly from the mouth of our Chairman that it will participate in the elections in all provinces with its own candidates. This is a sign of determination. In the next step, we announced our candidates for Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir. Therefore, there is no gap left."

"The voter will go to the ballot box, cast their vote, and each party will receive votes at the level of interest their own candidate receives. In 2 provinces; Ankara and Istanbul, 3 parties will compete neck and neck. Even though we are seen in the 'small party' category, we will be among the top 3 parties in Ankara and Istanbul; we will enter the top three."

"WE DID NOT MAKE THIS DECISION WITH HESITATION"

"There is no open door because there is no request. There is no offer from the AK Party, and there is no request from here. I do not think it is possible for such an offer to come at this stage. They say '24 hours is a long time in politics,' but we did not make this decision with hesitation."

"The New Welfare Party withdrew its presidential candidate and entered the alliance before the May 14 elections. I do not think it is likely that the same scenario will be experienced again today."
