Yaşar Güler issues statement regarding Erdoğan slogans at Anıtkabir

Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler made a statement regarding the slogans chanted for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at Anıtkabir. Minister Güler stated that the regulations at Anıtkabir are carried out within the framework of Law No. 2524 on the Execution of Anıtkabir Services and relevant legislation.

WRITTEN RESPONSE TO CHP DEPUTY'S QUESTION

Minister Güler provided a written response to the question posed by CHP Tekirdağ Deputy İlhami Özcan Aygun during the budget negotiations in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) regarding the matter. Aygun had asked why there was no intervention against behaviors that did not comply with the rules during official ceremonies at Anıtkabir. In his response, Güler used the expressions, "Services at Anıtkabir, the eternal resting place of the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, are carried out within the framework of the rules specified in Law No. 2524 on the Execution of Anıtkabir Services and the Regulation, and the legislation in force."

The Erdoğan slogans at Anıtkabir sparked debates in the public eye. Reactions were expressed on social media and various platforms. Some individuals argued that Anıtkabir should be a space where respect is shown to the memory of Atatürk, stating that such slogans damage this respect.
