Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu made important statements regarding the agenda during a live broadcast on Habertürk. Touching upon the process of his departure from the AKP and the new Constitution debates, Davutoğlu used striking expressions.
"THEY WOULD BE IN POWER WITH 60 PERCENT"
Former Prime Minister Davutoğlu said that the AKP missed a great opportunity by losing him.
In his statement, Davutoğlu said, "I wish the AK Party hadn't lost me, I wish it had remained loyal to its principles. If it had taken my warnings on political ethics into account, it would currently be in power with 60 percent. I left the AK Party with 49.5 percent of the vote. I am still among those masses, I have not disconnected."
"OUR DOOR IS NOT CLOSED TO A NEW CONSTITUTION"
Touching upon the new Constitution debates, Davutoğlu stated that he is against the current presidential system:
"Turkey needs to transition to a true parliamentary democracy. If constitutional debates are held for the health of the system rather than for election-winning calculations, we will not say no."
"I SENT A LETTER TO BAHÇELİ, HE GAVE HIS SUPPORT"
Speaking about the era of a Turkey without terrorism, Davutoğlu said, "Mr. Bahçeli called me 'Serok Ahmet' for years, but I do not get hung up on these things in politics. At the beginning of the process, I sent him two letters, and he called me shortly after to say that he supported it."
