Striking claim from Hamza Dağ regarding CHP municipalities: 'Right now, almost all of them...'

The normalization/softening process in politics, which began following the reciprocal visits between AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, has been short-lived.

AKP Deputy Chairman Hamza Dağ, who was the candidate for İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in the March 31 Local Elections, targeted CHP leader Özgür Özel and CHP municipalities in a post on his social media account.

"THERE IS NO SUCH APPOINTMENT"

CHP leader Özel, when asked about nepotistic appointments in municipalities during a program he attended last night, replied: "Let me tell you the current situation. There is no such appointment. As the Chairman of the Republican People's Party, I have stated that I am very determined on this matter. Our management approach is exactly like this." he said.

"ALL OF THEM ARE CONTINUING THEIR DUTIES"

Quoting the video containing these statements by CHP leader Özel, Hamza Dağ said: "If you recall, Mr. Özgür Özel had made speeches from a high pedestal stating that he was against nepotistic appointments in order to do personal PR regarding the irregularities in his municipalities. Even after the Chairman said he was very determined on this issue, appointments of friends, acquaintances, and relatives continued in CHP municipalities. No one took him seriously in the time that has passed. CHP municipalities have become the center of appointments of friends, acquaintances, and relatives. Right now, almost all of them are continuing their duties." he said.

"TRYING TO DECEIVE THE CITIZENS"

Increasing the dosage of his criticism in the continuation of his statement, Dağ added: "CHP mayors are trying to deceive Mr. Özgür Özel, and Özgür Özel is trying to deceive the citizens. But the facts are as clear as day." he stated.
