Striking post from MHP following dawn raid on celebrities: Veiled message becomes a hot topic

The repercussions continue following the October 8th incident where famous figures were detained and subsequently released over allegations of drug use. Nineteen celebrities, including Hadise, Demet Evgar, and İrem Derici, were detained in a dawn raid.

Following the operation, the celebrities were released after blood and hair tests were conducted.

This operation against drug use allegations drew varying reactions from different political parties. While the CHP argued that the operation against the celebrities was an assassination of character, AKP Deputy Group Chairman Özlem Zengin stated that the right not to be stigmatized had been violated. Zengin emphasized that this right must be protected regardless of who the individual is.

A NOTABLE 'CELEBRITY' MESSAGE FROM MHP

Amidst the ongoing debates, a notable statement came from MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız. Yıldız shared a quote from the book "A Journey," in which former British Prime Minister Tony Blair recounts his political life. In his post on his social media account, Yıldız shared Blair's views on celebrities as follows:

“Experience is a guide at all times and under all conditions. Tony Blair explains that he benefited from the influence provided by celebrities and adds; 'Celebrities often add glamour and excitement to a job that is otherwise boring. However, if they attempt to lecture the public on why and how to vote, then things change and it leads to disaster. The public thinks they have overstepped their bounds and shows them and their political comrades the way.'”
