CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı made evaluations regarding the fund investigation during a press conference held at the CHP Batman Provincial Headquarters.
Sarı stated that Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek had previously drawn attention to manipulations in the market, arguing that despite this, the process was not managed effectively.
"HE IS FROM BATMAN, YOUR FELLOW TOWNSMAN, AND A DECENT MAN"
Referring to Şimşek as "He is from Batman, your fellow townsman, and a decent man," Sarı conveyed that the Minister had said 11 months ago, "There are some manipulations here, these need to be prevented."
"The minister also said 11 months ago, 'There are some manipulations here, these need to be prevented,' but he did nothing, or he wanted to do it but couldn't. If he didn't do it, that's one problem; if he wanted to do it but couldn't, that's another problem."

Sarı noted that the Capital Markets Board (SPK) imposed a fine of 4 million 435 thousand liras 11 months later, finding this amount insufficient. Using the expression, "It's not even the price of an apartment," Sarı said that the investigation should not be limited only to those who bought and sold the funds.
"We need to look at these structures that paved the way for these funds, turned a blind eye to them, did not let these boards work, and did not even let the minister work—if such a thing exists."

Sarı stated that they are following the investigation and emphasized that it should be monitored to see how far the process will extend.
