According to the 2025 Central Government Budget Law Proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) by the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, the Presidency's budget has been set at 16 billion 928 million 146 thousand liras. This figure represents a 38 percent increase compared to last year.
The 2025 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, prepared by the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, has been submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
38 PERCENT INCREASE
According to the proposal, the Presidency's 2025 budget has increased by 38 percent, rising from 12 billion 283 million 843 thousand to 16 billion 928 million 146 thousand.
Of the budget, 9 billion 857 million 811 thousand liras have been allocated for the purchase of goods and services, while 2 billion 784 million 216 thousand liras have been allocated for personnel expenses.
The budget includes 2 billion 370 million liras for current transfers, 1 billion 753 million liras for capital expenditures, and 163 million 119 thousand liras for state premium payments to social security institutions. While an appropriation of 14 billion 840 million 194 thousand liras was estimated for the Presidency's budget in the 2024 Budget Law Proposal, this figure shows a 14 percent increase in the 2025 budget.
AUSTERITY FORGOTTEN
A total of 20 vehicles, including 5 official cars, will be purchased for the Presidency in 2025. Of these vehicles, 10 will be passenger cars, and five will be off-road passenger vehicles with a capacity of at least four and at most eight people.
A total appropriation of 16 million 940 thousand liras, excluding taxes, has been allocated in the budget proposal for the vehicles to be purchased by the Presidency. An appropriation of 1 million 502 thousand liras, excluding taxes, has been set for each of the 5 official cars to be purchased. A total appropriation of 7 million 510 thousand liras has been allocated for official cars. However, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance will be authorized to increase these figures.
According to the Circular on Austerity Measures, the purchase of new vehicles in the public sector had been restricted for a period of three years.
