Successive resignations in the New Welfare Party: They joined the AKP

In February, Murat Daban, who served as the Mayor of Selendi, announced that he had left the New Welfare Party and joined the AKP. Daban's decision was announced during his visit to the Selendi District Organization.

Following Daban, Municipal Council members Mehmet Koçdemir, Mustafa Ataşman, and Kamil Kocademir also announced that they had joined the AKP. These defections are of a nature that will shift the political balance in the district.

Furthermore, Emine Çimen, who resigned from her position as the Women's Branch President of the New Welfare Party, along with Abdullah Arıkanlı, Hüsamettin Kara, Himmet İşlek, and Enes Şahinkaya, who were municipal council candidates in the March 31 elections but were not elected, also joined the ranks of the AKP.
