Şükrü Genç, who was not re-nominated, gives CHP an ultimatum: "We will read our decision in a press statement"

Sarıyer Mayor Şükrü Genç was not re-nominated. In a post on his social media account, Genç stated that the deadline he gave the CHP would expire tonight.

Genç invited the people of Sarıyer to the Sarıyer Municipality Service Building on Monday for the announcement of his decision.

"WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE DECISION WITH A PRESS STATEMENT"

Genç's statement is as follows:

"To the dear people of Sarıyer and the public,

The deadline I gave my party to re-evaluate the process regarding the error made in the candidate selection process expires tonight at 24:00. As a result of the intensive meetings we held with the people of Sarıyer, representatives of non-governmental organizations, neighborhood unions, neighborhood heads (muhtars), associations, and opinion leaders, we will announce both my decision and the decision of the people of Sarıyer with a press statement we will hold in front of the Sarıyer Municipality Main Building on Monday, February 19, at 16:00."
