A summary of proceedings has been prepared against CHP deputies due to the "Freedom for İmamoğlu" banner hung on the bridge by CHP members.
In response to the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, CHP deputies hung a banner reading "Freedom for İmamoğlu" on the Bosphorus Bridge.
This action took place while CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and a Socialist International delegation were passing under the bridge.
Following this banner-hanging action, it was reported that a summary of proceedings was prepared against the CHP deputies.
In the incident that occurred on May 24, 2025, CHP Istanbul Deputies Suat Özçağdaş and Ali Gökçek, Şanlıurfa Deputy Mahmut Tanal, Edirne Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan, and Tekirdağ Deputy İlhami Özcan Aygun hung the "Free İmamoğlu" banner on the Bosphorus Bridge.
CHP Leader Özgür Özel watched this banner display together with participants of the Socialist International Council Meeting.
