Support call from Hayrunnisa Gül to Dilek İmamoğlu
As support calls continue for Dilek İmamoğlu following the arrest of her husband, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, a surprise message of solidarity has come from Hayrunnisa Gül.
It has emerged that Hayrunnisa Gül, wife of the 11th President Abdullah Gül, called Dilek İmamoğlu, the wife of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye President and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor who was arrested and removed from office.
Oda TV columnist Ayşe Baykal wrote that sources close to Dilek İmamoğlu provided information regarding Hayrunnisa Gül's call.
In her column, Baykal stated, "I would like to share information I learned from sources close to Ms. Dilek. Hayrunnisa Gül, whose 'intifada' she started in 2014 I find valuable and who showed the courage to step outside the role assigned to her, called Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu to offer her support, and they have been in contact. I congratulate her for this act of women's solidarity."
