Support from MHP to CHP: They will not field a candidate
Following the passing of Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay, the AKP and MHP have decided not to field candidates in the upcoming election. The MHP announced that it will support the CHP's candidate.
Following the death of Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay on December 14, it has been reported that the AKP and MHP will not field candidates in the mayoral election to be held on December 19. AKP Manisa Provincial Chair Süleyman Turgut expressed his sorrow over the loss of Durbay at a young age and stated that they are acting with sensitivity during the election process.
Recalling that they adopted a similar stance following the death of Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, Turgut said, "This decision is an expression of a stance that prioritizes the unity and solidarity of Manisa, social conscience, and our shared values rather than political competition."
MHP TO SUPPORT CHP
MHP Manisa Provincial Chair Cüneyt Tosuner announced in a written statement that they will not field a candidate in the mayoral election to be held in the municipal council and will support the CHP's candidate. Tosuner stated, "Our council members will support the candidate put forward by the Republican People's Party. This decision is not the result of any political bargaining, but of a sense of responsibility toward the national will and the stability of local government."
These developments aim to soften the political atmosphere in Şehzadeler and ensure stability in local government.
