Support package for young couples from Erdoğan: Child benefits and interest-free loan opportunities

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced new decisions aimed at supporting the family structure at the Family Year Promotion Program held at the Beştepe People's Congress and Culture Center. Pointing out that Turkey's population growth rate is in decline, Erdoğan announced that they have prepared a comprehensive support package to encourage families.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR YOUNG COUPLES

Young couples getting married will be offered an interest-free loan of 150,000 TL with a 48-month maturity and a 2-year grace period. In addition, financial support will be provided to families by increasing birth benefits. While the amount of aid given for the first child has been increased to 5,000 TL, 1,500 TL per month will be provided for the second child, and 5,000 TL per month for the third and subsequent children.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN AND YOUNG FAMILIES

President Erdoğan stated that work is underway on flexible and remote working models so that women can balance their work and family lives. In addition, it is planned to increase low-cost childcare services for working mothers and fathers and to implement housing support for young couples.

POPULATION GROWTH IS SOUNDING AN ALARM

Emphasizing that Turkey's fertility rate has fallen from 2.38 to 1.51 and that the young population is gradually decreasing, Erdoğan said, "This situation is not sustainable. We must act urgently for our future generations."

Expressing that the family structure is the cornerstone of society, Erdoğan stated that they will continue to fight against deviant ideologies that target the family. He added that stricter measures will be taken against content on digital platforms that leads to cultural erosion.

The President stated that a strong family structure is of critical importance in achieving the goal of a great and strong Turkey, and expressed that all these steps taken for the family aim to protect fundamental values.
