Surprise Volkan Demirel remark for Hatay candidacy! 'The candidate in my heart...'

There is less than 2 months left until the local elections. While political parties continue their efforts to determine candidates, the repercussions of CHP re-nominating Lütfü Savaş in Hatay continue.

Lütfü Savaş, who was protested by earthquake survivor citizens on the anniversary of February 6, announced that he would not withdraw his candidacy.

Following Savaş's decision not to withdraw, the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP), which received nearly 9 percent of the vote in Hatay during the May 14 elections, nominated former national football player Gökhan Zan, who had resigned from the İYİ Party. TİP announced that they would make a sacrifice if Savaş's candidacy were withdrawn.

While it is being wondered whether there will be a change in CHP's Lütfü Savaş decision following Gökhan Zan's candidacy, a notable remark came from legal expert Ersan Şen.

"THE CANDIDATE IN MY HEART IS VOLKAN DEMİREL"

Evaluating Gökhan Zan's candidacy on Sözcü TV, Şen said, "The candidate in my heart, even though I am a Beşiktaş fan, is Volkan Demirel. If Hatayspor manager Volkan Demirel had been a candidate, he would have won the election."

"IT IS CLEAR WHERE GÖKHAN ZAN WILL GET VOTES FROM"

Stating that he could not make the same claim for Gökhan Zan, Şen said, "Because as far as we can see, a separate debate is going on over him. I mean, it's a difficult situation. 'Running as a candidate from TİP, coming face to face with CHP... Because if you run as a candidate from TİP, where will you get votes from? You will get votes from CHP.'"

"ERDOĞAN SWEPT THE BOARD ON MAY 14"

Şen continued his words as follows;

“In the presidential elections, the People's Alliance swept the board there under those conditions. The President won in Hatay.

I already put a period on the Lütfü Savaş issue that day. Is that place your father's property? Is there no one else to manage it? You cling to those positions and don't know how to leave. You are practicing it like a profession."
