Surprising statement from Ahmet Davutoğlu: 'I am experiencing financial difficulties'

Gelecek Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu made statements regarding the understanding of representation in public office and ethical criteria during a broadcast on NOW.

“STATESMANSHIP IS NOT LIKE THIS”

Addressing allegations that a Minister of Transport served as a board member for another company, Davutoğlu criticized the situation and stated that statesmanship in the Republic of Turkey must be conducted according to certain principles. Davutoğlu said that individuals holding public office should not receive a salary from any other source.

“WE STRUGGLE WHILE HOSTING FOREIGN GUESTS”

Former Prime Minister Davutoğlu also touched upon his own situation in his remarks, expressing that they face financial difficulties when hosting foreign guests. He noted that this process creates challenges for them from time to time.

“I RECEIVE OFFERS BUT I DO NOT ACCEPT THEM”

Davutoğlu stated that he still receives various offers, noting that he is offered significant fees in exchange for giving two or three conferences a year. However, stating that he does not accept these offers, Davutoğlu used the phrase, “I carry the representation of a Prime Minister.”

“I CANNOT RECEIVE A SALARY FROM ANOTHER COMPANY”

Continuing his remarks, Davutoğlu stated that it would not be appropriate for someone who has served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey to receive a salary from another company, and that he acts in accordance with this understanding.
