Swift response from İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu to Bahçeli!

İzmir Deputy Müsavat Dervişoğlu, who was elected as the Chairman of the İYİ Party, received his certificate of election at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Dervişoğlu stated the following:

"I have assumed a historic responsibility. May God give strength to our shoulders. During the execution of the congress, I was elected chairman as a result of a congress that will make us all happy while the eyes of the world and Turkey were upon us, with the esteemed delegates of the İYİ Party displaying an attitude worthy of the İYİ Party. I am aware of my duty and responsibility. I will do my best to be worthy of my fellow party members. I will also strive to continue the journey of serving our nation hand in hand with my fellow party members.

We will heal Turkey's wounds by embracing one another. We will try to overcome Turkey's troubles in a spirit of unity. We will also overcome the obstacles that are intended to be placed in our path one by one.

A difficult process awaits Turkey. As the İYİ Party parliamentary group and party organizations, our preparations are complete. We have an answer to everything and a word to say on every subject.

I am addressing our dear nation from here. The good and the brave founded a party about 7 years ago and changed many things. Nothing will ever be the same again.

Tomorrow, I will take over the duty from our esteemed chairman. From that moment on, I will initiate our party's journey to power."

RESPONSE TO BAHÇELİ

Answering journalists' questions after his speech, Dervişoğlu also responded to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's remarks in his group meeting speech today, where he said, "Congratulating treason is not written in our book."

Dervişoğlu continued as follows:

"He has made a statement. A large number of chairmen called me personally to congratulate me. I thank them. I also read his statement carefully; I did not expect any congratulations from him. The decision is, of course, theirs. But he has some statements, I want you to know. I do not form my relationships with individuals by looking at their statements. If you form relationships by looking at that, you have to look at what he said to whom in the past and what line he is on today. I did not come here to engage in polemics. I came to serve the nation. I want this to be known as such."
