Tarık Balyalı Appointed Deputy Secretary General of CHP
Tarık Balyalı has been appointed as Deputy Secretary General of the CHP. Balyalı was the CHP's candidate for Mayor of Pendik in the March 31 local elections.
Tarık Balyalı, a close associate of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, has been appointed to a position at the CHP Headquarters.
Balyalı, who was the CHP's candidate for Mayor of Pendik in the March 31 local elections and lost the race by a margin of approximately 8 thousand votes, stated the following in his announcement:
They say politics is a long-term struggle. As of today, I am beginning a new role in my political life.
With the assignment of our Party's Secretary General, Ms. Selin Sayek Böke, and the approval of our Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel, I have been appointed as Deputy Secretary General of the CHP and Secretary General of the newly established Local Government Coordination Council.

I would like to thank our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel, our Secretary General Ms. Selin Sayek Böke, and our IMM and TBB Mayor Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, whose support I have always felt by my side, for their trust in me.

WHO IS TARIK BALYALI?
Süleyman Tarık Balyalı was born in 1973 in Pendik, Istanbul. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Pendik. He graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics. He completed his master's degree in the Accounting and Auditing Department at Okan University Institute of Social Sciences.
Tarık Balyalı, who owns a private office as a Financial Advisor in Pendik, entered politics by becoming a member of the CHP in 1995. In 1996, he served as the CHP Pendik Youth Branch President, and between 1998 and 1999, he served as the Deputy President of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Youth Branch. He also served as a District, Provincial, and Convention Delegate in both the youth branches and the main organization. He served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors and one term as District Secretary in the district's main organization. He has actively served in many democratic mass organizations, such as the ISMMMO Professional Law Committee Membership, KAFFED (Federation of Caucasian Associations) Board of Directors Membership, 1864 Istanbul Caucasians Culture Association Board of Directors Membership, and as an activist for the Northern Forests Defense.
He was elected as a member of the Pendik Municipal Council in the 2009 local elections. During his tenure, he served as Group Deputy Chairman, member of the Audit Commission, and member of the Plan and Budget Commission in the Pendik Municipal Council. In the 2014 local elections, he was elected as a member of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipal Council and the Pendik Municipal Council. In the previous term, he also served as the CHP Group Deputy Chairman and a member of the Pendik Municipal Council.
